FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- With the first snowfall of the season expected to hit Fairfield on Saturday, the Fairfield Fire Department is offering tips on how drivers can keep safe.
Clear all snow from the windows, roof and hood of your car so your visibility is not impaired when driving, and so flying snow does not jeopardize other drivers.
Take it slow. Four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive provide better traction, but will not help you slow or stop in slick conditions.
Plan for extra travel time.
