Fairfield Gas Station Robbed; Attempt Made At Diner

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield Police are investigating a robbery and an attempted robbery at Fairfield businesses early Monday morning.

A masked man entered the Cumberland Farms gas station on Kings Highway at about 3:50 a.m., Monday, and demanded money, according to police reports. He fled with “a small amount” of money, police say.

A half-hour later employees at Andros Diner on Villa Avenue reported a similar man came in and also demanded money, but left before receiving any, police say.

The man did not show a weapon in either case, and employees of both businesses were not injured or threatened, according to police reports. A string of similar incidents were also reported at Bridgeport businesses later that same morning.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male in his mid- to late-20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a slender build. At the time of the incidents he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black coat and a black mask.

Anyone with information on these two cases should contact the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau at 203-254-4840. You can also submit tips anonymously via the Fairfield Police website.
