FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield police were called to the Fairfield Senior Center on Friday evening after two men got into a physical altercation.
A co-worker of the Republican Registrar of Voters in Fairfield, Roger Autuori, 61 of Fairfield, called police after he said Autuori assaulted him as he was putting scanners into a box in the Senior Center.
He told police that Autuori had gone up to him, grabbed him by the neck and slapped him with an open hand.
Police interviewed both men after the incident and Autuori was charged with breach of peace. He was issued a written promise to appear at court on Oct. 28.
Autuori is up for re-election this Election Day on Nov. 5.
