Fairfield Man Charged In Accidental Stabbing

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man was charged with assault in what police called the accidental stabbing of a friend during a wrestling match early Monday morning.

The two men were wrestling at the victim’s home when Daniel Albro, 20, allegedly pulled out a pocket knife and it went into the victim’s leg, causing a half-inch puncture wound, according to police reports.

The victim told police that at no point did he fear serious injury, police say. He did ask to file charges, however. Albro was charged at the scene with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. He was released on a promise to appear in court and is due for arraignment Sept. 10.
