FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A man arrested after a physical altercation with a family member was charged with assault and officers seized nine guns from the residence, Fairfield police said.
Officers were called to the man's house on Bronson Road on Tuesday night after he threw a family member to the ground and injured her, police said.
According to the report, Daniel Schine, 58 of Fairfield, also smashed an iPhone before leaving the house.
The victim called police, and they began to search for Schine but were unable to locate him Tuesday night. Schine turned himself in at police headquarters Wednesday afternoon.
While searching the house Tuesday, officers found and seized an assortment of loose ammunition, police said. Officers also opened a safe and found nine handguns and shotguns, which were also seized, police said.
Schine was held on $25,000 bond and charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was due in court Aug. 15. No information regarding his court appearance was known.
