Fairfield Man Charged With Fighting, Damaging Car

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield man was charged with disorderly conduct after a fight with his grandfather Wednesday, police say. Cody McMahon, 20, of Melville Drive also allegedly damaged a car during the argument, according to police reports.

The grandfather told police he and McMahon had gotten into an argument after he asked his grandson to move out of the house. During the fight, McMahon allegedly twisted the man’s arm behind his back, causing pain but no injuries, police say. He also knocked a side mirror off a car parked in the street in front of the house, according to the police report.

When police arrived McMahon had already left the house. The Fairfield Police K-9 Unit tracked him to a house on Warde Terrace. People there told police that he was there recently, but had fled in a car, according to the police report. He eventually came to Fairfield Police headquarters after being contacted by police.

Wednesday’s incident marked the second time this month that McMahon was arrested, police say. He was charged with a breach of the peace and interfering with police after fighting with officers outside Penfield Pavilion on June 15, according to previous police reports. He pleaded not guilty to both charges last month.

McMahon was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor in the most recent indicent. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond, and is due in court Thursday.
