FAIRFIELD, Conn. A Fairfield man was charged with sexual assault on a minor Tuesday. Arterio Johnson, 30, of Biro Street is accused of having sexual contact with a 15-year-girl, police say.
Fairfield Police received reports from the girls guidance counselor in May that the girl had been sexually assaulted. The girl also reported that during an argument with the man he pushed her to the ground, causing her to black out, police say. Police found a bruise on the back of the victims head, according to police reports.
The girls parents identified Johnson as the suspect. Police said he was known to the girl before the incident. Johnson was arrested in Massachusetts on other charges and turned over to Fairfield Police when Massachusetts police learned of an active warrant for his arrest.
Johnson was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault, three counts of risk of injury to a minor and a breach of the peace. He was also charged with a violation of his probation relating to previous charges. Johnson was held on $175,000 bond and taken to court Wednesday.
