When officers arrived, they found Robert Kovatch, 49, of Fairfield, in front of the house and detained him, police said.

During an argument, Kovatch told his girlfriend that if she didn't leave the house he would kill her and then himself, the police report said.

Kovatch was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.

He was given a court date of Nov. 25 and released to medical personnel. He was undergoing an emergency evaluation due to homicidal and suicidal declarations at St. Vincent's Hospital, police said.
