Marc Cehovsky, 48, of Stratfield Road, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and second-degree strangulation in the 1:10 a.m. incident, police said.

Officers arriving on the scene found the woman with bruises on her neck, jaw and arms. They were told she was hit in the face, choked and thrown to the ground multiple times, police said.

An ambulance crew determined she might have a throat injury, but she declined transport to the hospital for evaluation, police said.

Police contacted Cehovsky, who had left the scene, and he agreed to go to headquarters to talk to officers. He admitted to the fight, but denied choking the victim and said she hit him, too, police said.

He had bruises on his neck, chest and arms, police said.

Cehovsky posted $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
