Fairfield Man Joins Police Force In Bethel

BETHEL, Conn. -- Ryan Tharas, of Fairfield, was recently sworn in as the newest Bethel Police Officer.

Tharas, 21, who is currently attending the Connecticut Police Academy for the next six months, has law enforcement in his blood. His father is a Connecticut state trooper.

A former student at Western Connecticut State University studying justice, Tharas will receive four months of field training with senior Bethel Police Department officers after finishing the academy.
