Roger Potter, 48, consented to a field sobriety test, which he failed, police said.

Potter was driving north on Kings Highway East at about 8:48 p.m. when he was spotted driving without his lights on, failing to use a turn signal and running a red light, police said.

Officers said Potter then failed to immediately pull over his vehicle when they turned on their lights, and instead drove into the parking lot at 1201 Kings Highway E., police said.

When officers approached the black four-door Nissan Maxima, Potter refused to provide his name, license or registration, police said. It was later discovered Potter was driving with a suspended license because of a previous DUI, police said.

Before failing the field sobriety test, Potter failed to complete both a breath test and urine chemical tests, police said.

Potter was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20.
