Megan Oddis Switzer, 49, of Couch Street, was arrested at the Fairfield University Downtown Bookstore at about 2:30 p.m. Monday after police received a call from management, police said.

According to Fairfield police, Switzer has had problems at the store in the past and is not allowed to return. Officers advised Switzer to leave as she screamed at customers, but she refused, police said.

She was arrested and charged with breach of peace and first-degree criminal trespassing. Switzer was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment after the arrest, according to police.

In a separate incident, police were called Sunday, Feb. 15, to Fairfield University’s Barone Campus Center, police said.

Officers who responded found Switzer on the floor of the student center, screaming at students who were studying, police said. According to the police report, Switzer refused to leave when asked and began to become physical with Fairfield University Department of Public Safety and Fairfield Police Officers when she was told she needed to leave.

When officers got her up off the ground and began to escort her out, one officer reported that Switzer began to scream, “You’re 50 shades of peanut butter and jelly,” at the officer, police said.

Switzer was charged with breach of peace, first-degree criminal trespass and interfering with an officer after the altercation. She was held overnight on a $5,000 bond at Fairfield police headquarters, police said.

Last Wednesday, Feb. 11, Switzer had a similar altercation with Fairfield officers when she was found to be trespassing at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Old Post Road and was told not to return, police said.

Switzer is due to appear in court on Feb. 25 in Monday’s incident at the downtown bookstore and on Feb. 26 in Sunday’s incident at Fairfield University.
