Charles A. Conroy, 30, was charged Thursday with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct; his stepbrother Daniel Williams, 40, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, police told the Post.

The stepbrothers began squabbling after one said that his life was going badly, and then they began punching each other, the Connecticut Post said. Conroy grabbed a 12-inch bread knife, chased Williams around the kitchen and slashed him on the hand, the Post said.

Williams was treated at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and released, the Post said.
