Fairfield Police Charge 70-Year-Old Woman With Assaulting Son-In-Law

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A 70-year-old Fairfield woman was arrested after a verbal confrontation with her son-in-law turned violent, police said.

Carol Lashiano, of Brookside Drive was charged with disorderly conduct  at about 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, police said.

Lashiano got in a verbal argument with her son-in-law over an iPad, according to police reports. The disagreement led Lashiano to grab him by the shirt, and throw a chair and then a bowl of food at him, police said.

She called police to the scene, and when officers arrived, Lashiano grabbed her chest and complained that she was having a heart attack, police said.

Lashiano was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, according to reports.

After officers completed the investigation, they found Lashiano to have been at fault and issued her a misdemeanor summons, which she refused to sign, but promised to appear in court, police said.

She was scheduled to appear in court Friday, Oct. 24.
