Police took Schroeder into custody without incident on Aug. 16, one day after the 30-year-old Fairfield resident allegedly tried to harm himself with a knife and an empty glass beer jug, according to the CT Post. It was while discussing the previous night’s behavior when police decided to arrest Schroeder and charge him with second-degree strangulation and third degree-assault and disorderly conduct.

Police held Schroeder on $100,000 bail and took him to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport for an evaluation after his release.
