The man damaged an air-conditioning unit and furniture inside the home after he arrived at the Stephens Lane home at 3 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Omar Rashawn Davis, 32, of Lexington Ave., was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace, according to police.

Family members told officers that Davis ripped the AC unit out of a window, damaging the frame, before he began throwing furniture inside the home, police reports say.

His children - including a 1-year-old - and their mother waited in the garage for police to arrive, unable to calm down Davis, who was in the kitchen causing more damage, police said.

Officers said Davis was extremely resistant, difficult to control and believed to be high on narcotics, as his pupils were dilated but there was no smell or evidence of alcohol, police said.

Officers took Davis to police headquarters, where he was unable to sign documents and continued to be “extremely" combative, police said. As a result, he was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was examined by doctors and later signed the police documents.

He later told the arresting officers that he thinks he “might have taken two hits of PCP earlier” that night.

Davis was released from Bridgeport Hospital with a promise to appear in court. His case was scheduled to be heard in court Oct. 23.
