FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A cyclist was sent to the hospital Saturday evening, when he tried to make a turn off Stratfield Road and was struck by a car.
The rider, who was wearing a cycling suit with reflective neon stripes, was attempting to turn onto Gate Ridge Road when he was hit, falling onto the car’s hood and windshield before tumbling to the ground, police said.
The driver, an 83-year-old Fairfield woman, was given an infraction for failure to grant the right of way, police said.
The cyclist was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center with rib and leg pain, police said.
