FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A guest of a Fairfield University student was arrested Friday after he shimmied 30 feet up a tent pole at the university’s annual President’s Ball, police said.
Connor Sullivan, 19, of Stoney Corners, Southbury, climbed up the pole at the center of the dance floor and slid down before he was apprehended by officers on the scene around 8:15 p.m., police said.
While being escorted to the campus Public Safety office, Sullivan swung his arms around and tried to flee, police said.
He was charged with interfering with an officer and resisting arrest, police said.
He was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 6.
