FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police and fire boats responded Friday afternoon, when a sailboat overturned, leaving the boater in the water.
Police reached the man, who was wearing a life jacket, near Sunken Island off Sasco Beach around 2:45 p.m. He was brought aboard and then transferred to a fire boat.
Fire personnel took him to Ye Yacht Yard where an ambulance was waiting, but the man said he had no injuries and declined treatment, police said.
Meanwhile, police righted the boat and the man was transported back out to it.
