Fairfield Police, Firefighters Dig Out Elderly Man's Home From Foot Of Snow

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — When an elderly Fairfield man suffered a medical emergency on Thursday, there was a foot of snow outside his home. 

A Fairfield police officer and firefighters dug out an elderly man's walkway while they made a medical emergency call Thursday.

Fairfield Police Officer John McGrath and the crew from Fairfield Fire Department Engine 2 sprung into action, shoveling the man's walkway and a getting a "Great job gentlemen!" shout-out on the police department Facebook page. 

"Please remember to check on your elderly neighbors and offer assistance if possible," the post said.

The collection of photos on Facebook show a cleared path through deep snow with a shovel and a stretcher.
