Fairfield police were called to a Beaumont Street home at about 1 a.m. and found Conan Moore of Thornton, who was heavily intoxicated and threatening to cause harm to himself, police said.

According to police, Moore's intoxication may have been worsened by medication he is prescribed for his bipolar disorder.

When officers arrived at the home of Moore’s brother, Moore, 42, was being restrained by his sister-in-law and was uncooperative with officers, according to the police report.

Fairfield police told the Daily Voice that they were able to transport Moore to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport.

However, dispatch received a call from the Bridgeport Police Department at about 2 a.m. alerting them that upon arrival at St. Vincent's, Moore walked away from the ambulance and officers were unable to locate him.

Five Fairfield patrol cars were sent to St. Vincent’s Medical Center to help Bridgeport police in the search for Moore, police said.

The search ended soon thereafter, when police found Moore in the south-side parking lot inside a fenced-off area used to store oxygen tanks for the hospital, according to officials. Maintenance was called to use bolt cutters to gain access to the fenced-off area and apprehend Moore, police said.

Bridgeport Police charged Moore with breach of peace after he shoved an AMR paramedic as he made his escape from the ambulance, police said. Moore was released on a promise to appear in court.
