SOUTHPORT, Conn. – A Fairfield Police Department detective will be presenting an Internet safety seminar Wednesday in Southport.

Detective Beth Irizarry will be discussing Internet safety tips parents should implement to better protect their children from possible online predators.

She also will talk about different apps children and teenagers use, and how to ensure young people are not being too open about their lives while interacting on social media sites.

The free forum will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Eagle Hill-Southport School, 214 Main St., Southport. Only adults are invited to attend, and advance registration is encouraged.
