An employee called police moments after the robbery, saying two men had come into the store wearing black masks, hoods and gloves and demanded money.

One man, the employee told police, jumped over the counter to get the cash and the other, who carried a gun, walked around the counter.

They took an undetermined amount of money from the register before fleeing toward Kings Highway West, police said.

Fairfield officers and detectives were accompanied by Bridgeport officers and their K-9 unit in the search for the two suspects, police said.

The K-9 unit tracked the suspects to a wooded area where the scent was lost and police said a car was probably hidden for a speedy getaway.

Police describe one man as having a thin build and the other as a lighter-skinned man wearing dark glasses.
