Police say the arrest warrant being prepared will likely arrest the driver on a variety of motor vehicle charges.

The driver, Rosa Blanca Chavarria-Medina, 30, of Bridgeport was conscious and alert Wednesday morning and was able to speak with police about the accident, according to a police report. She was still hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the accident, police said.

Of the four people brought to the hospital, only one other remained being treated for injuries, police said.

Chavarria-Medina had been traveling south on Interstate 95 and took Exit 24 for Chambers Street on Monday night. Her Nissan Maxima sped south off the exit ramp and came to rest at the Cumberland Farms building after striking five other vehicles, Fairfield police said.
