Fairfield Police: Man Violated Protective Order, Threatened Ex-Girlfriend

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Bridgeport man was held on a $50,000 bond Sunday after he argued with a former girlfriend, violating two protective orders, at the Fairfield Circle Inn, police said.

The victim told police that Junaro Velez Cruz, 36, of Choosey Hill Road, threatened her and pulled her hair in the 2:30 p.m. incident at the Post Road motor inn. He was picked up while walking back toward Bridgeport, police said.

Cruz was charged with two counts of violation of a protective order stemming from two similar incidents in Fairfield, police said. He was also charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening, police said.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
