Fairfield Police Marine Unit Kicks Off Safe Boating Week At Marina

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Marine Unit of the Fairfield Police Department will hold a kickoff to Safe Boating Week at the South Benson Marina parking lot on Saturday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Marine Unit, Penfield Sail and Power Squadron, Bass Pro Shops, Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and Seatow will have booths at the event, which is free and open to the public. 

In addition, Marine Unit Officers will be conducting free vessel inspections, said Fairfield Police Officer James Wiltsie.

Traffic safety officers will be offering free child seat installations.

Come down and try the roll-over simulator or the seat belt convincer.

The South Benson Marina of the Marine Police is at 555 Turney Road, Fairfield.
