Amy Kiernan, 38, of Burr Street, Stamford, and Shaun Costello, 34, of Linen Avenue, Bridgeport, were each charged with fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and criminal attempt to commit fifth-degree larceny, police said.

The fourth-degree larceny charges stem from a Sept. 15 incident, in which the pair are believed to have stolen a Stihl saw from a construction site at Beach and Puritan roads at 12:30 p.m., police said.

The third charge is in response to a Aug. 13 incident, in which a Lindley Street homeowner said he was using a chop saw in his front yard and went inside his house, police said. When he returned, he told police that he saw Costello put his saw in a car driven by Kiernan.

The victim grabbed the saw back from the car, which left the scene, police said.

Costello and Kiernan, who police referred to as “substance abusers,” were held on $10,000 bond each.
