FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A thief who stole a purse at a Post Road medical clinic in Fairfield on Monday racked up hundreds of dollars worth of charges before the woman realized the purse was missing, police said.
The victim, an employee of Vein Clinics of America, said she left her purse in a storage room and reported it missing shortly before 5 p.m., police said.
Her credit card had already been used at a Post Road Shell service station and Bob’s Stores in Fairfield, and her Citibank card had been used in Shelton at Scooters service station, Walgreens and three times at Walmart, police said.
Police are reviewing surveillance video at the Shell station and Bob’s, and the investigation is ongoing.
