A resident reported early Thursday morning that a cellphone was stolen from the Androse Diner in Fairfield on Wednesday night, police said. The diner's surveillance video shows a young boy taking it off the table, police said.

According to the police report, the video showed the boy, possibly about 10 years old, take the phone off the table and take it to his mother. Both then left with the cellphone, police said.

A worker at the diner said the mother and son were regulars at the diner, coming in two to three times a day, police said.

The phone was valued at $700. Police were still investigating the incident.
