Brett Taylor Nagy, 19, of Sunset Avenue, was tracked down at his home by Fairfield officers, police said.
Earlier, officers patrolling Jennings Beach noticed multiple cars in the parking lot and decided to investigate, police said. When officers made it to the beach, police said they found a group of people gathered around a fire, most of whom disappeared upon the officers' arrival, police said.
Nagy was among those who fled the scene, but one person interviewed by the police gave up his name, address and phone number, which led his home and arrest, police said.
Officers located Nagy, and he was arrested, transported to Fairfield Police headquarters and processed for his out-of-state warrant, according to police.
Nagy was charged with one count of fugitive from justice and held on $250,000 bond, typical for this charge, according to Fairfield Police Sgt. Dan VanDerhayden.
Fairfield police were unable to provide information on why Nagy was wanted in Massachusetts or on the warrant because it was from another jurisdiction.
The Fairfield Daily Voice contacted Cambridge Police Department for more information.
Cambridge Police Director of Communications and Media Relations Jeremy Warnick was unable to provide the information “since we were not the arresting agency.”
Nagy was scheduled to appear in court on March 16.
