Fairfield Police: Up To $2,500 Stolen In Restaurant Break-In

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Two Asian restaurants in Fairfield reported break-ins Sunday, with one losing a cash register and bank drop bag worth up to $2,500, police said.

Employees at Jinn’s Fresh Noodle House & Cafe came in to work to find the front door lock on the Post Road restaurant had been removed sometime overnight, police said.

A cash register with about $400 to $500 and a bank drop bag containing $1,000 to $2,000 were missing, police said.

Investigating officers were not able to retrieve prints on the door because an employee had already used Windex to clean the door for the day, police said.

Not far away on the Post Road, employees at Tai JIang restaurant reported fresh cracks on their glass front door in an apparent attempted break-in, police said. Nothing was stolen in that incident.
