Fairfield Restaurant Workers Escape Robbery Attempt Unharmed

FAIRFIELD, CONN. -- Two employees at a Fairfield restaurant managed to escape injury during an unsuccessful robbery Sunday at their workplace, the CT Post reports.

Fairfield police report that a man tried unsuccessfully to rob a Fairfield restaurant Sunday with what authorities believe was a pellet gun, the CT Post says.

A man used some kind of weapon to try to rob the workers as they left the Rio Bravo Restaurant early Sunday. The man pointed what looked like a gun at them, then discharged it as the employees ran back inside the restaurant, the CT Post reports.

Employees told police they believed it was a pellet gun. They also said a second man was waiting in a car nearby, the CT Post says.
