Fairfield Teen Accused Of Shooting Birds On Lake Hills Beach

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Fairfield teen was charged with animal cruelty after witnesses saw him shoot and kill four birds on a Fairfield beach Saturday, according to police reports.

A resident near Lake Hills Beach 4 on Winnepoge Road called police to report that teens were shooting a pellet gun on the private beach Saturday afternoon, police say.

Police stopped a car matching the witness’s description nearby after the call, which had two teens and a pellet gun inside, according to police reports. A small amount of marijuana, a grinder and a glass pipe were also found in the vehicle, according to the arrest report.

Kenneth Forrest, 18, of Greenfield Street and a 17-year-old Fairfield male were inside the car, police say. Forrest admitted to having shot the birds while talking with police, according to police reports.

Forrest was charged with cruelty to animals, disorderly conduct, and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct. Both were released at the scene and are due in court on July 9.
