FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A New York man accused of breaking the jaw and eye socket of a fellow student at Fairfield University was charged Monday with second-degree assault, according to the Fairfield Citizen .
Brandon L. Cortazar, 20, of Dix Hills, N.Y., is accused of injuring the student during a fight outside a campus townhouse Oct. 30, according to the report.
Cortazar is scheduled to appear Dec. 22 in state Superior Court in Bridgeport, the report said.
