FAIRFIELD, Conn. — A Fairfield woman was arrested Saturday after she hit another car on Sport Hill Road, deploying its airbags, and left the scene, police said.
Police said Nancy McCullough, 54, of Ocean Reef Drive, was traveling south on Sport Hill Road around 10:30 p.m., when she struck a car headed from Easton Turnpike to Congress Street. She did not stop at the scene, police said.
A witness reported McCullough’s license plate number to police and officers were waiting at her home when she returned, police said. Officers noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath and she failed field sobriety tests, police said.
McCullough was charged with failure to obey a red light, evading responsibility and driving under the influence, police said. She was released on $100 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20, police said.
Though the victim’s car airbags deployed, no one was injured in the accident, police said.
