Fairfield Woman Charged With Stealing From Victoria's Secret

FAIRFEILD, Conn. - A woman described by Victoria's Secret employees as a repeat shoplifter was charged Wednesday after taking more than $250 in items from the store, Fairfield police said.

Employees at the Post Road store called police to report that a woman had left with multiple items that she hadn't paid for, police said.

Nicole Fortune, 31, of Fairfield, went into the store and purchased two items, the police report said. While leaving, she put several items into her pockets, coat and bag, employees told police. She then ignored all employee attempts to speak with her and left headed south on Reef Road, police said.

Officers stopped Fortune on Reef Road, police said. She was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a written promise to appear in court Dec. 20.
