FAIRFIELD, Conn. — When a Morehouse Highway woman came home March 7 and found her dog in the basement, she thought a relative might have stopped by and inadvertently locked the pooch downstairs, police said.
It wasn’t until March 12 that she realized $10,000 worth of jewelry she stored in her living room was missing, police said.
The woman told officers that someone must have entered her home’s side door between 7:15 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 7 and stolen gold necklaces, a pearl necklace, two engagement rings and other pieces.
The homeowner spoke with a neighbor, who saw a dark blue Volvo in the driveway, but couldn’t remember exactly when, police said.
Police are investigating the report.
