Fairfield's Stratfield Area Sees More Break-Ins

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Another group of car burglaries was reported in the Stratfield section of Fairfield early Thursday morning. At least six cars were broken into in the area overnight, adding to the string of 15 in the neighborhood and nearby reported last week.

Thursday morning’s burglaries were reported on Homeland Street, Prospect Avenue and Windermere Street. As of 10 a.m., six incidents had been reported to Fairfield police of cars with signs of people searching through them. All were parked either on the street or in driveways.

Only a few owners reported their cars were left unlocked, but investigators found no sign of forced entry or damage to any of the cars. Two items were reported stolen from the cars: a $200 pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses and a Dell laptop.

Last week, 15 car burglaries were reported in Fairfield’s eastern sections. Cars on Windermere Street and Homeland Street were broken into those nights as well, along with cars on the connecting streets of Farmington Avenue, Merritt Street and Brookridge Street.

Police advise residents to look out for suspicious activity and to call 203-254-4800 with any information.
