FAIRFIELD, Conn. — First responders converged on the Lake Mohegan open space area after a cyclist took a bad spill while trail riding Sunday, according to a Facebook post from the Fairfield Fire Department.
Fairfield firefighters, police officers, and AMR paramedics worked together to help the cyclist, who was placed on a stretcher and transported by the Fire Department's Gator 1.
Gator 1 is an off-road specialty vehicle. This is the second time this week that the Gator 1 vehicle was used to transport an injured person to safety.
Fairfield firefighters also used Gator 1 to rescue an injured hiker Friday afternoon at Lake Mohegan. The hiker's accident occurred near the dog beach on the east side of Lake Mohegan.
