FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Four more car break-ins -- with smashed windows and stolen items -- were reported Monday evening at the Edge Fitness Center, Fairfield police said.

The break-ins occurred between 5:30 and 9 p.m. Monday in cars parked at the Edge Fitness Center, police said.

The first call came shortly before 8:30 p.m., with a report of a smashed front passenger side window and a black Garmin Nuvi GPS valued at $200 taken, police said. The glove compartment had been opened and rummaged through, but the complainant said nothing appeared to have been taken.

At 8:40 p.m., the left rear window of a Nissan Rogue was smashed and a black and white Tommy Hilfiger purse, bank cards, driver's license, Social Security cards, cash and a perfume bottle were taken, police said. Medical equipment was also missing from the car, police said.

A Michael Kors purse and two portable DVD players were taken from a Subaru Forester after a rear window was smashed, police said. Sunglasses, headphones and a Coach wallet containing credit cards, bank card, driver's license, Social Security card and a birth certificate were also taken. Two unsuccessful attempts to use the card had been made in Bridgeport.

Shortly after 9 p.m., the owner of a fourth car reported a smashed right front window, police said. A Steve Madden purse, black wallet with bank cards, credit cards, retail store cards and driver's license were taken, police said. A Coach change purse and an employee ID card were also missing, police said.
