Greenwich Car Thief Suspect Arrested After Shooting, Crash In Hartford

GREENWICH, Conn. -- State Police arrested the driver of a car stolen in Greenwich after a chase to Hartford, where it struck a police car then crashed, police told NBC Connecticut.

A gun was fired by a state police officer during the chase, but the suspect was not shot, police told NBC Connecticut.

State police joined the investigation and chase at about 11 p.m., when Greenwich police reported a stolen 2003 Honda with a cellphone belonging to the victim in it on I-84 near Hartford, said the report.

The 22-year-old Hartford man in the car was arrested and held on bond, NBC Connecticut said.
