BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A man arrested after a bar fight in Bridgeport tried to hang himself in his cell, according to the Connecticut Post.

The man had been arrested in connection with a bar fight, and was suspected to be drunk, according to the Connecticut Post. While at Bridgeport Police headquarters at around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, guards saw on a video monitor that the man was attempting to hang himself in a holding cell, the Connecticut Post reported.

Police told the Connecticut Post that the man, who is in his 30s, was unhurt in both the suicide attempt, as well as in a struggle with guards that ensued afterwards. Police are collecting video of the holding areas, and the Bridgeport Police Office of Internal Investigation has been informed of the incident, the Connecticut Post reported.
