Man Charged With Breaking Court Order in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was arrested in Fairfield Monday for allegedly leaving flowers and a note on his ex-girlfriend’s car, police say. John Dobyan, 25, was charged with violating a protective order by Fairfield Police.

The Fairfield woman filed for a restraining order against Dobyan Monday morning after  Bridgeport Police charged him with second-degree threatening the night before. According to police reports, the woman accused Dobyan of threatening to kill her. He was released after appearing in court Monday, but the case is still pending.

The woman told police that she found the gift and note on her car when she left work at 4:30 p.m. She then received 16 text messages from Dobyan, according to police reports. The court order forbids him from having any contact with the woman.

Fairfield Police charged Dobyan with violation of a protective order Monday evening. He was held on a $50,000 bond and was due to appear in court again Tuesday.
