Man Charged With Breaking Court Order in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was charged with violating a protective order after allegedly visiting his ex-wife’s home in Fairfield on Friday.

Erik Sporre, 42, did not step on the woman’s property but allegedly directed a friend to do so for him, police said.

Sporre has had a 50-year protective order against him since February, forbidding him from contact with his ex-wife. According to state court records Sporre has multiple convictions for domestic violence related cases in Fairfield.

A neighbor of the victim’s Sedan Terrace home called police at about 7 p.m. Friday to report Sporre and another man were at the house, police said. Police do not believe he set foot on the woman’s property, but that he stood as close as 150 feet from the home and directed a friend to go into its garage, police said. The man pulled a motorcycle from the property, and the two began walking away from the house when officers arrived, police said.

Police found Sporre was in violation of his ex-wife’s protective order and charged him with a misdemeanor. He was held on $50,000 bond and is due in court Monday.
