FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield police charged a Bridgeport man with driving under the influence of the hallucinogenic drug PCP after he allegedly caused a four-car accident in July on Kings Highway East.
Police said Ivan McClure, 28, had been driving westbound on Kings Highway when he hit two cars stopped at a red light forcing one car to hit another. When police arrived at the scene, they found McClure lying on the roof of his car.
He and one of the other drivers were taken to St. Vincent's Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Police were granted a search warrant for McClure's medical records and it was determined that he had been on PCP.
Police charged McClure on Monday with driving under the influence and following too closely. He was released on a $500 bond and is due in court on Oct. 25.
