Man Charged In Attack On Bus Driver In Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Bridgeport man has been charged in an attack on a bus driver at a Fairfield bus stop in September, according to police reports.

Police were called to the bus stop in front of Sherman Green on the Post Road on the afternoon of Sept. 2. Joshua Bradley, 32, of Bridgeport was arguing with the driver of a city bus at the time, police say. The driver told police that Bradley had spit on him and punched him on the shoulder during the argument, according to the arrest report.

The driver also told police that the man was a frequent rider on the route and often caused problems, police said. Bradley also was accused of ignoring officers’ orders to step away from the driver, according to the arrest report. At the time of the incident Bradley was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport for a psychiatric evaluation. He was arrested Tuesday on a warrant in Fairfield.

Bradley was charged with a breach of the peace and interfering with an officer, both misdemeanors. He was released on a promise to appear in court, and is scheduled to face charges on Dec. 18.
