FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A Shelton man has been charged with helping a woman accused of stealing a diamond ring and other valuables while under house arrest last month in Fairfield, according to police reports.
Arlene Gasper, 31, of Bridgeport was charged with larceny earlier this week in connection with thefts from her mother’s Fairfield home. She allegedly took a diamond ring, electronic equipment, power tools and a Mickey Mantle baseball card and sold them to a Bridgeport pawn shop, police say.
Christopher Decarvalho, 32, of Shelton was with Gasper during some of the sales, according to police reports, and gave his name and identification for the receipts for some of the items.
Decarvalho was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony, and two counts each of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy, both misdemeanors. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Oct. 17.
