FAIRFIELD, Conn. - A manager at a Walgreens in Fairfield called police after he saw a man take several boxes of painkillers off the store's shelves and leave without paying, police said.
When officers arrived at the store on Villa Avenue early Thursday, Gary Prinner, 51, of Bridgeport, was still in the parking lot outside the Walgreens, police said. Officers told him of the accusation and found eight boxes of Advil and five boxes of Z-Quil in his red handbag, worth a total of $132.
Prinner was charged with sixth-degree larceny and was released on $500 bond. He is due at Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 17.
