Man Charged With $1,710 Theft From Fairfield Store

FAIRFIELD, Conn. ? A Shelton man was charged with the theft of more than $1,700 worth of merchandise from a Fairfield store, police said.

Pasquale Raffone, 47, was previously charged with two other thefts at the same location this year, according to police reports. 

Store security at Home Depot on Kings Highway Cutoff told police that they had been investigating Raffone for incidents at the chain’s Fairfield, Stratford and Middletown stores.   The employees reported that Raffone would steal items from Fairfield’s store and then return then with forged receipts for cash in other towns, according to the police report.

He was arrested on May 19 and charged with two counts of fifth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor. 

Investigators said they also found that he had been in the store on May 10. He had called the store earlier that day to check on the availability of a certain item. Later he was seen on camera taking 15 sealing grids, each valued at $114, off the store’s shelves, police said. He walked out a side emergency exit without paying for the $1,710 worth of items, according to the police report. 

For the May 10 incident, Raffone was charged with third-degree larceny, a felony, at Bridgeport Superior Court Friday. He was released on a promise to appear in court on July 20.
