A warrant was issued for the arrest of Paul Fanciulli in connection with the incident. Officers arrived at the hotel shortly at about 5 a.m. Saturday after a manager called to report that a female guest had gone to the main lobby saying her boyfriend had assaulted her, police said.
She told officers that they had been out the previous night and argued before she returned to the hotel by herself, police said. When Fanciulli returned to the room, they argued and he got violent, she told police.
According to the police report, Fanciulli ripped a mirror off the wall, punched a hole in the wall and pushed her into a window, causing some injuries. She refused medical treatment.
He left but returned a short while later to look for his gun, which the girlfriend said she had hid in a drawer because he was intoxicated, the police report said. Police said that Fanciulli found the gun.
Officers attempted to reach Fanciulli by phone and after several attempts applied for an arrest warrant. He turned himself in at police headquarters at 7:45 p.m. Monday and was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
Fanciulli was held on $500,000 court-set bond and taken to court Tuesday Feb. 4. No information regarding the hearing was available.
